Great question, Liza! When rinsing your hair, a comfortable temperature between hot and lukewarm is ideal because the warm water will help open the cuticles of the hair so that the shampoo can penetrate deeper and remove dirt and oil from the hair. The open cuticles will also be able to absorb the oil and moisturizing effects of the conditioner better. As your scalp’s oil production slows down, you may cool down the temperature. Too hot can damage hair or scalp and too cool won’t break up excess oils. So find a place between warm and hot that is comfortable for your scalp to get the maximum benefits. Let us know if you have any other questions. 😊

Why do you advice to wash hair with hot water?

Hi Jeanine! Thank you for your comment! For those with oily scalps, we do recommend to only apply the conditioner at the ends. We apologize for the confusion!

I just watched the application video for the conditioner, and was surprised to see that you actually recommend applying the conditioner to the scalp as well as the ends?? Is this the same advice you give for all hair types, including those prone to oily scalp?
