7 Stress-Free Hairstyles for Thanksgiving (and Beyond)

Let’s face it, Thanksgiving can be stressful--traveling, airport security, traffic, getting up at the crack of dawn (or earlier!) to cook, that one relative who’s always a bit...ugh. You have a lot of things to worry about, but your hair shouldn’t be one of them. Here are seven stress-free hairstyles for Thanksgiving (and beyond) because any bit of time you can free up to enjoy your holiday is a win as far as we’re concerned.

Loose Waves

Loose waves are always an easy go-to style. You can even create them by sleeping in curlers or braids the night before. Then, all you have to do when you wake up (or before guests arrive) is let your hair down, spritz on some texturizing spray, and run your fingers through the curls to create loose waves. Alternatively, make waves with a wide-barrel curling iron. Loose waves don’t take that long to create, so they’re totally doable on Thanksgiving Day.

Natural Curls

If you have natural curls, show them off this Thanksgiving! Just grab your curl-defining cream, and let your natural curls take center stage. Tie on a scarf if you need your hair out of your face or just want to accessorize.

Gold Accessories

Gold is hot this year, and adding gold accessories to your hair is sure to bring the glam to your Thanksgiving. It’s an easy way to elevate your style without a ton of work. Try a gold headband, place a few gold cuffs on your braids, or wrap your locks in gold thread.

Wet Look

Rock a sleek wet look à la Zendaya this Thanksgiving. You’ll look red-carpet-ready with minimal effort. Just towel dry your hair after you shower and spread a little gel from root to tip. Run a wide-tooth comb through your tresses, add some oil to the ends, and blow-dry. That’s it!

Looped Braids

Looped braids are yet another classic style making a comeback this year. They’re super easy and have the added bonus of keeping your hair out of the way if you’re the one tasked with cooking. Just divide your hair into two pigtails and tie each off with an elastic. Braid each side and form a loop. Add another elastic, and you’re done. Tie a ribbon at the top of the loop to cover the elastics if you want a special touch.

French Braids

French braids always look like you’ve made a ton of effort, even if you haven’t. Make a single, tight braid for a sophisticated look, or opt for two loose French braids for a more bohemian, romantic vibe. Pull random sections throughout the length of the braid if you’re going for a more carefree style.

Perfect Pony

It doesn’t get much simpler than a ponytail, and the best part is ponytails are so versatile. A sleek, high pony is great for making you look put together (even if you don’t feel that way!). Alternatively, try a bubble pony by adding an elastic every few inches through the length of your ponytail and then pulling each section to the sides to create the bubbles. Or pull your braids into a low braided ponytail and add some bright earrings for a gorgeous Thanksgiving style.

Whatever style you choose, we hope your Thanksgiving is as wonderful and stress-free as possible. Don’t forget to pack your Viori bars! They’re great for traveling and make excellent hostess gifts. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
