Does your hair need more vitamin B? Here are the signs some signs it might.

7 Signs Your Hair Needs More Vitamin B

Like any other part of your body, your hair needs proper nutrition in order to be healthy. Vitamin B is especially important, which is why it’s in virtually all hair supplements. But how do you know if your hair needs more vitamin B? Here are seven signs you should be looking for.

Your Hair Is Brittle

Vitamin B7 (biotin) plays a big role in strengthening your hair. If you don’t have enough, your hair becomes brittle and breaks easily.  So if you notice that your hair looks damaged and is breaking when you brush it, you could be lacking in vitamin B7.

Your Hair Is Thinning

Does it seem like your brush is full of hair every time you use it? Or maybe your shower drain is becoming clogged with all the hair you’re shedding. Losing more hair than usual can be alarming. If it seems like your mane just isn’t as thick as it used to be, you may need to add more vitamin B.

You Have Loads of Split Ends

Everyone deals with split ends from time to time, but if your hair is always splitting, it may need more vitamin B. Since vitamin B helps your hair grow and stay strong, split ends can be a warning sign that your hair isn’t getting the nutrition it needs.

You Have Dandruff

Dandruff can be caused by many things, including low levels of B vitamins. Riboflavin (vitamin B2), niacin (vitamin B3), and pyridoxine (vitamin B6) each play a part in keeping your hair healthy and warding off dandruff. If you’ve been avoiding dark colors because of the showers of dandruff falling from your hair (so embarrassing!), it’s possible that you need to nourish your hair with more B vitamins.

Your Hair Has Lost Its Sheen

Vitamin B is known to boost the appearance of hair, so if your tresses aren’t looking as glossy as they used to be, a lack of vitamin B could be the culprit. Pump up the shine by giving your hair the vitamin B it needs.

Your Hair Isn’t Growing

If you’ve been trying to grow your hair out but not seeing results, your hair could need more vitamin B. Vitamin B helps nourish your hair follicles to promote growth. If your hair isn’t getting enough vitamin B, that could be why your locks are taking forever to grow.

You Have Premature Graying

The age at which you start seeing gray hairs is influenced by many factors, including stress, genetics, medical disorders, and (you guessed it!) not having enough vitamin B. The good news is if your premature graying is due to a lack of vitamin B, studies suggest it can be reversed by adding a vitamin B supplement.

Vitamin B plays a big role in your hair’s health. If you notice the above signs, try eating more vitamin B-rich foods, like whole grains, almonds, and dark leafy greens; taking a vitamin B supplement; or using products like Viori that are rich in vitamin B. In fact, one of the many reasons we use Longsheng rice water in every bar of Viori is that it’s chock full of nutrients, including vitamin B.
