benefits of a shampoo bar

What are the Benefits of Using a Viori Shampoo Bar?

If you've never used a shampoo bar, the idea might seem a little weird. Maybe you're envisioning picking up a regular bar of soap and rubbing it on your head. We agree that's not the best idea and would totally strip your hair of oils. Don't worry. Our shampoo bars are a completely different (and amazing!) experience.

We know that switching to a shampoo bar can feel like a pretty big leap, so here's a video to show you just how simple it is to use a Viori shampoo bar (and check out our cute bamboo storage container, too!).

Now that you've had a chance to see our shampoo bar in action let's talk about some of the benefits of switching from traditional bottled shampoo and other shampoo bars to a Viori shampoo bar.

We Treat You Like Family

And family comes first. No, that's not a lame sales gimmick or empty promise. It's our philosophy. If we aren't comfortable sharing, doing, or trying something with our family, we won't ask you to do it with yours. That means you can trust that our ingredients are always natural, safe, ethical, and effective.

We developed our shampoo bars using the same all-natural ingredients the women of the Red Yao tribe have used safely for centuries to care for their stunningly long, healthy, ageless hair. Our key ingredient is Longsheng rice, which we purchase directly from Red Yao families at a premium.

You get a genuine product that comes with the knowledge that you are helping the Red Yao preserve their culture and traditions. How many other shampoo bars can say that?

You Can Feel Good About Our Ingredients

We have a strong belief in responsibility. That means we strive to provide only safe, natural ingredients, like Longsheng rice, cocoa butter, aloe vera, and bamboo. It also means we believe in honesty and transparency. Take a peek at the label and get to know all of our ingredients right here.

And here's a quick look at just how those natural ingredients work to keep your hair healthy and beautiful.

In addition to using only natural ingredients, we believe in being ethical. We use sustainable ingredients that won't harm you, animals, or the earth. Our products are 100% vegan and are never tested on animals.

They're also free of sulfates, parabens, and plastic. Did you know it takes 450 to 1,000 years for a plastic bottle to biodegrade? That's why you won't find us using plastic packaging, ever!

Part of being ethical means we also give back to the Red Yao, who are in danger of losing their culture due to economic pressures. In addition to purchasing rice from them at a premium, we donate 5% of our profits to projects that benefit the Red Yao.

But It's Got To Be Expensive, Right?

Nope! We think our shampoo bars are actually pretty cost-effective. One of our bars is equivalent to two to three 16-ounce bottles of shampoo. You can expect to get 30-60 washes from one of our bars, depending on your hair's length and thickness.

And They Smell Amazing!

Terrace Garden is a natural, green, floral scent, reminiscent of wandering the bamboo trails of the Longsheng mountains. Citrus Yao is a fresh citrus scent, straight from the handmade baskets of the Red Yao women's fruit stands. And Hidden Waterfall is the lovely, musky, amber scent found on the forested paths to the hidden Longsheng waterfalls.

We hope you agree that these are all pretty great reasons for giving Viori a try. We'd love to welcome you into our tribe, just as the Red Yao women welcomed us into theirs.
