I find this is one of the best non-toxic conditioners I have used. My hair actually feels conditioned, detangles fairly easily in the shower & once dry. My hair is shiny & feels healthy. I find many scents too strong, but the smell of the un-scented bar is LOVELY to me! Bonus is the company is local to me. The cons for me are I go through a bar in about 6 weeks, so it is more money than I would like to spend (liquid bottles last me longer). But like I said, it is the best working non-toxic conditioner I can find than spending more $. Wow, just wow. I didn't have high hopes having tried other “natural” shampoo bars and only gotten dried out tangled hair for it. But my goodness, this shampoo is fantastic! I have super thick curly 3b/3c and I had never been able to find a conditioner that provides shine, hydration, AND definition without it leaving some form of residue on my hair and/or scalp. I have extremely thick, oily hair and dandruff. For years I have tried different “natural” and sulfate -free shampoos that just left my hair feeling dry and straw-like. For years I have had a love-hate relationship with my hair, keep in mind that I consider it to also be one of my best physical assets as well, and I have tried many different shampoos and conditioners and had many headaches and neck pains because of it too. I went from washing my hair during every shower to washing my hair once to twice a week, only combing my hair in the shower while I condition it with my fingers to only using big tooth combs, and constantly trying different routines to tame my mane. My hair felt so much lighter that I was beginning to be afraid that I was losing hair. Hahahaha. I was so scared that I had decided I was going to stop using the shampoo & conditioner bars and complained that my hair was falling out and then my older daughters said, "No, you're not. You still have a lot of hair. It's just softer now." A few days later after being more aware of my hair I realized she was right. My hair was still as full as ever and it no longer felt or looked dry and crunchy. Fast forward to today, April 8, 2022, my hair has been so much healthier, softer, fuller than it has ever been and that's saying a lot for my Polynesian hair, my mane lost its crunchy and dry feel and look as well. And, I swear my "wisdom" hairs have either gained color again or have been growing out with my natural hair color pushing the "wisdom" color out. Fermented rice water is rich in amino acids, which are widely used in cosmetic hair care to condition and smooth. They help hair look smoother and feel softer from the first wash, without adding anything scented to react to.*

The first ingredient is sodium cocoyl isethionate, a mild coconut-derived cleanser (EWG 1) — not a sulfate.
