1. Wet your hair and scalp thoroughly with warm water — the warmer the water, the more readily the bar activates.
2. Hold the bar between both palms and rub together for several seconds to build an initial lather, or glide the bar directly along your scalp in slow, even passes from front to nape.
3. Set the bar down and use your fingertips (not nails) to work the lather into your scalp with gentle circular movements — focus on the scalp surface, not the lengths.
4. Allow the lather to travel down the lengths of your hair as you rinse; for straight-to-wavy hair, this is typically sufficient conditioning for the mid-shaft and ends.
5. Rinse thoroughly with cool or lukewarm water until the water runs completely clear — residue is the most common cause of post-wash weight or limpness with bar formats.
6. Between uses, store the bar on a draining soap dish away from direct shower spray to extend bar life and prevent softening.
